I would have liked to see more of it throughout but might've harmed the overall flow so we'll see what he's like in future games.ġ00% PCalexa's backlog review #9 - Yakuza 0 - 10/10 Nishiki best boy, that's all I need to say. But at the same time kinda happened out of nowhere? But I think I see what they were going for and it did the job well enough. I cannot wait to see the rest of the series! One thing that seemed a bit weird is Majima's change at the end, I get that it is supposed to be backstory for the rest of the games as apparently he's batshit in the rest of them, but the change seems so sudden and not really reinforced as he seems a bit crazy but not fully. The game and characters are all ridiculous but that's why it is so good. From the main characters to the back alley mushroom man who gets flown to Europe. The characters are some of the highlights of the game, everyone has their own personality and draw you in for all kinds of reasons. The fast pace with progression makes it satisfying to complete. I really wasn't expecting to enjoy it but I did, far more than I should admit, but here I am. Overall gameplay was amazing as there is SO much to do, you're always finding new activities to do and try out, sometimes enough to forget what the game is about and the story! One of the most notable minigames was the Cabaret Club side story, the minigame was extremely fun and I think I didn't progress with the game much at all until I completed it.

The VAs were very, very good, hope this continues! Combat Gameplay was fun but there is room for improvement imo, hopefully that happens in future games. The graphics were good, I believe this was a newer entry which explains why it's better than ~1-4, the sound was good, soundtrack was decent. The world is impressive as it's not overly big but there is something on every corner and road, not bloated with pointless stuff. I went into the game not expecting to do much side activity, but I've done a large amount and even now after just completing it, I expect to go back and do even more such as the Real Estate side story and collect all the cards. I was hooked just after the first or second chapter and once things got rolling even more, I couldn't stop.
CIRCUIT RACER YAKUZA 0 FULL
The story is woven so intricately there were few plotholes and fewer questions of things unresolved (other than obvious sequel things at the end) which is impressive for a story that is so full of twists, complex (but not complicated) and dense. It is a prequel so it builds on the world that exists. It nails the comedy but also the emotion and seriousness when it matters. Since it's my first game in the series, I can't compare it to the other parts. If Sega had polished this point a little more, the game would have been a 10 for me. At this point I would have wished for fewer fights against Kuze, 5x was really a bit too much. The slightly more difficult fights were only in the substories/minigames. The boss fights in the main story never really challenged me and the fact that you can equip yourself with 20 healing potions before each fight makes it even easier. The only thing I would criticize about the game is the level of difficulty in general, which in my opinion is much too easy on the normal level. Ultimately, it's almost like diving into another world, where there's something to do around almost every corner. There are many little things, subtle things that are difficult to put into text form. There are a lot of factions and characters, and it's not always obvious who is good or bad. Sega manages to keep the tension high almost permanently over this long period of time.
CIRCUIT RACER YAKUZA 0 PLUS
The biggest plus point of the game for me was probably the complex story and characters.

There is so much to do on the side that you can easily get lost in it for 20-30 hours without advancing the story an inch. But this curious balance worked surprisingly well. But then, completely contrary to this, it becomes deadly serious and exciting again in the main story. There are the craziest stories and characters imaginable (keyword Mr. Yakuza 0 is often totally over the top and almost overstated, especially when it comes to the substories. The majority of the game takes place in the two cities of Kamurocho and Sotenbori, there are 17 main story chapters and 2 main characters (Kiryu and Majima). Stylistically a mixture of action-adventure and brawler, with open-world-like structures, plus a pinch of GTA and Shenmue.

90% Xbox Series X/SThe game is very Japanese and has a corresponding flair, capturing the late 80s style from Japan quite well.
